Director of Engineering

Position Description:
We are seeking a talented individual with strong leadership skills to inspire, motivate and manage a solid team of software engineers in developing enterprise-level software solutions; enhancing and maintaining existing applications; supporting client implementations; and resolving customer issues.

This position requires both managerial skills and a high level of technical expertise in a Java/XML programming environment. Also essential is an ability and willingness to work closely with Product Management and Sr. Management in providing technical guidance and input to product definition and strategy.

Required Skills:
Successful candidate must demonstrate:

• Strong managerial and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform as a member of a senior executive team developing corporate strategy and executing on operational objectives
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative fast paced environment
• Software background with experience developing high availability software for the internet
• Solid leadership skills, experience building and managing strong remote development teams
• Strong project management skills, with proven track record of delivering projects
• Technical experience with Java, Jboss J2EE Server,  Hibernate, Struts/JSP, Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with workflow engines, business rules engines and business intelligence environments
• Strong knowledge of Java design patterns
• Superior written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related field
• Minimum of 5 years in software development
• Minimum of 2 years in management roles
